Question about making cannabutter

when making cannabutter is it OK to use leaves cut during vegetation? Do they have THC? Or only leaves cut when harvesting the plant are good for making cannabutter?

Could you be more specific? I'm new at cultivating.

Does that mean the harvesting material? All of it, or only trim close to the buds or what?

So I keep all trim then add some buds too. Here is my recipe: 1 gram per tblsp butter. Or 1oz per lb of butter. Boil water add butter & de-carbed buds. Simmer with a lid for like 45 mins. Strain out plant material pushing with a spoon against strainer into a large deep cup. Put in frig or freezer. You will see the butter rise to top &_ become solid again.

Thc doesnt grow in veg so no. Once flowering starts youll see tricombs starting to form. No tricombs no high. Read up on tricombs because when those resin glands are ripe and the right color, thats when its harvest time.

Only the ones with trichomes on them.
