question about sealing a cabinet...

Noob question here...prob asked a million times. My cab is built and painted white. there are a few very small light leaks at the door. My question is does the cabinet have to be Completely Light proof in the dark phase of growth? It may just be ignorance on my part but when these plants grow in the wild they are never really in total darkness are they?
Moonlight contributes some light in certain circumstances doesnt it?

Im new and im in the early stages of my grow, im just curious how tight my cab needs to be

If they are small and not near a direct light source (as in a light not shining directly at it -- as is the case on the inside) you'll be fine. Remember, the moon comes out at night and in places it can get bright. A little light will not hurt. You should be fine.
