Question about vent my room.

I turned a spare bedroom into a small grow room and am wondering how it vent it. It's 12x12 room with 8ft ceilings. The grow area in the room is 4x6 with one 600w light. I was thinking about going in the attic and disconnect the ac ducts going into the room and use them as exhaust vent with the inline fan mounted in the attic to keep the noise down. Do you think this will work?

As I have mentioned several times in other threads, it is very important to maintain positive or equal air pressure in your op. Do not create a vacuum. The room is large and it's a fairly small light bulb so you shouldn't need much for ventilation. The main thing is positive air exchange in the room.

Not really sure what you mean by air charge. This is a new one on me.

This means that the room recieves new air from outside and expell the exhausted air slowly using a continuous air flow. This gives your plants fresh breatable air all the time. When using co2 (the k-9 units out front and two other cruisers) this air exchange is critical.

I got ya. So do yo think it's ok to mount my fan in the attic? I know it gets hot up there in the summer, don't know if that will bother the fan or not. I was thinking bout getting a 1000 cfm gsm and have two vents routed two it. Any thoughts?

I vent into my attic and it works well. I wouldn't do it in a humid environment though. If it's humid there I'd put ducting to the roof and put in a vent cover, vent directly out. You can also tap into chimneys potentially which are good vent points.

get a fan. Use it as an exhaust so it sucks air out of the room. Have vents opposite this fan and it will suck fresh air into the room. Works faster if you put an intake fan on there as well. Instead of having the intake fan blow in through one vent, I would suggest branching it off into smaller vents throughout the room, or directing the airflow towards your plants to simulate wind.

i'm pretty stoned right now so maybe i'm out to lunch. But why is positive or equal air pressure important? i always maintain negative preesure to remove all odors.

I live in the south east so it is very humid in the summer. I am going to try and vent into the attic. Hope it works. Do you all think it would be ok to mount the fan in the attic?
