question for Sativa Growers

I have 2 almost 100% Sativa plants at week 11. Almost every branch looks done, except the main colas which don't even have any brown hairs yet. Should I harvest the bottom of the plant and give the top a few more weeks... Sorry about the lack of pics family's in town this week and I'm sneaking around;-)

I had this exact same thing happen with my Sativa's. The main cola's had no brown hairs while the sides and bottom where done. I ended up harvesting the side branches first and left the main cola for a week, didn't have any probs! Just be sure to not cut too many branches per day unless you wanna shock the plant... that's my 2 cents

If they're only at 11 weeks, you may be cutting early. Sativas are notorious for taking a long time to finish. The hairs(pistils) turning color has almost zero to do with ripeness or maturity, it's all about the color of the trichomes. If you don't have a magnifying glass or a loupe, I'd hold off on chopping for a bit yet, especially if she's still popping out pistils quite regularly. Ten to twelve weeks may be fine for an indica or some autoflowering strains, but most sativa strains take a minimum of 14-16 weeks to be anywhere near done.

Thanks for the responses guys, I'm gonna give the bottom of the plant another week to be sure and the top a few more weeks before I chop. Due to constant company (thanks to the wife) I have very liimited access to my grow till the middle of next week, so I can't post any pics. :(

I always let the sativa varieties go the distance so they pack on as much weight as possible. Depending on the strain, anywhere from 11-16 weeks. I would get a magnifying glass and check the trichs out so you know for sure when she is at her peak ripeness.
