question from noob

HEY guys what do you think of this T5 system? it has 20000 lumens it costs $299
do you think i could grow some good plants in this system? i would appreciate your opinion-thanks

Yep t5s are great.

There's two T5 threads here. I'd strongly suggest you search them up. There's alot of good info on what to expect.

20,000 lumens is fine for a small, enclosed grow space. ive grown some great bud with 16,000 lumens so you'll be fine, just keep the box/tent closed and cold

for $299 u can do wayyy better as far as light and more money for other stuff..u can get a 250w HID thtll do just as good if not better for $150...and then u can use the rest to vent tht bitch..

I grow with T5's and have great results.

yea I can strongly recoment T5 .. if it is the HO (high output) type ..

atlest if your plan to grow from start to finish with out a HPS ..

and make sure the bulbs is a mix .. etc. get a few extra now your at it .. so you have 3 of each (3x 2700K and 3x 6500K)

then use 3x6500K and 1x2700K for veg and visaversa in flowering ..

tho if it was me .. and I only had that option and would have to grow from start to finish in a small tent useing only T5HO I would mostlikely choose to grow Autos .. and then I would fit 3x2700K and 1x6500K from start to finish ..

I reccon two nice plants would fit .. haverst evry 60-70 day .. if you do it right between 2 and 4 oz


but I do see one flaw or one thing you will need .. a small carbon filter .. to filter out the smell .. but nothing you cant make your self or if you have 10 tumps buy for 40$ or so ..

later on .. once you have things under controle and feel like you ready to scale up .. you could go hydro/DWG (do some research wile you grow your fist girls in soil)

a good DWG system .. with a nice T5HO fixture with the right kelvin and fresh tubes evry ½ year and 2 Autos and I bet +4 oz evry seccon month would be easy ..

maybe some better prices and fixtures .. but agin .. then you need a tent or to build a box/carbint yourself .. and the ventilation you will also need to buy aso.

guess its up to you .. its a easy way .. but building a box yourself and buying the stuff seperate will make you safe money and/or get a better end result ..

I found em online . it is the HO type .. so yea go for it .. but keep em small .. could add a few small CLFs for side light later on ..

also .. I found out 2-4 inches away from the light is best .. one inch is to close ..
and dont expect to get any real bud sites after a foot away from the tubes .. thats the main down side of tubes .. penetration ..
so small short auto kush plants that get a foot -1½ and finish fast ..

T5's r good I'd just say stay away from the package deals like those, I think u can get better $ if u buy each piece by itself otherwise the person selling those packages wouldnt be makin any money.

well sumtimes it is actualy the other way around I must say .. if it is a big store who sells it all sepperate .. they often make packages like that wher they only make money on some of it and trow some of it in to make a good offer so you buy at ther place ..

never the less .. I think you could get a better system then that .. and with a littel time used googling/searching and with some creativity I bet you could make one for the same money .. 300$ get you a long way if your dont need big 1000W HID and big ventilation systems aso..

I also rather use a littel more and get the best .. as I would only need one .. or do it so you can upgrade along the way when you have the $ for it .. etc. T5HO fist .. then seccon grow a small HPS aso.
