The only difference between auto and photo is one’s capacity to control when/if it goes into flower.
It’s a plant.
The rudiments of plant physiology (the trinity: lights, water, nutrients) apply.

if nutes ... no. Living soil does that, but if you feed from bottles as I do, you must manually adjust that. There are buffers available, but they are esoteric and not cheap. My choice was MES with a pKa of 6.15.
