Hi ,

I have a 24 days old. In December I will live it alone for about 7-8 days and I am thinking of possibilities how to still give some water while I'll be gone. I know the best option will be a self watering system but I don't have access to that and usually thous things are made for more then one pot.

I came up with an idea and I want to ask you guys what you think.
So, my plan would be on the day of my departure to water it as usually and after that to set a system of watering with two empty bags ( one litre each) of Normal saline ( as you can see at the hospitals) but instead of the NaCl solution to have the regular water I am using to water my little one. And to set the dripping time to a very low rate, just enough to keep the soil moist.
What do you think?

so you are looking at setting up a drip system? give it a try before you leave and see. should work as long as the water dont run out.

What size pot are you using ? If the pot is large enough and you water really good before you go your plant should be fine for 7 days.

an IV drip sounds like a great idea! like someone already said, set it up and run it to make sure it will work.
also if you are going to need to move the plant to a larger container at some point, move it befor your trip as the larger the container the more water it will hold. any way to up your humidity? the more humid the room, the less water you will need & finally, cover your soil w/ something(tinfoil?) to slow the evaporation. a week should not be a problem. good luck
