Questions about fluorescents...and this from Lowe's

I'm looking at a different way of growing. i dont want to try CFL's again, and I dont quite have the money for MH/HPS yet...


So i was looking at fluorescent lighting. It should be abel to cover a much wider area and still be cost-effective.

The link above is for the housing with bulbs (i'd have to check out the bulbs exactly, id probably haveto switch them out) for about 50 bucks which seems liek a pretty good deal.

I would just liek to knwo a few things about fluorescents such as differences between t5, t8, and t12 (besides the size). Also, if like CFL's if they need to be very close to the plants.
