questions about supe soils

I was jus wounding if I go wit a organic soil or I think what yall call a super soil can I use none organic nutes in the bottle or is that going against ever thing organic soil is I will be growing soon an would like to have a soil that would be good for all stages of growth an will also give me a good yield is there any good soil out there that I could use with bottle nutes to make my life easy

In all honesty it's either 100% organic or not organic at all. Anything that comes in a bottle is not truly organic regardless of the label. The easiest thing to do if you set on growing soil would be to get a "soiless" medium. Like sunshine promix. It has no nutrients in it so you can be 100% positive of what the plant has/needs from the get go. Just buy a simple grow and bloom nutrient combo. The brand is up to you. But stay away from additives such as big bud and anything else claiming to give you bigger buds etc and better flavor. Just keep it simple from the start and you'll see better results. Sorry I can't help you specifically but I'm more of a hydro guy.

I have nothing on had but my grow tent an a five gallon pots an my light will be here in another week so will my seeds then its off to the races

Roots organic, canna terra, empire builder, are all high quality soil and the price is high as well. If you want to save money but still get quality organic soil then you can try Bloome & Garden which you find at nurseries. It just depends on if you prefer name brand or not. As for liquid nutrients, most things in bottles are chelated and readily available to the plants which some say is good and others say stresses the plants by force feeding them instead of letting them eat what they need when they need it through super soil. A good book to read is "True Living Organics" by The Rev. I read it for free through Scribd.com hope this helps. Best of luck on your grow.

This is more about my setup I have five greenhouse seeds jack herer an I want to try main lining for 8 tops under a 600 watt hps my tent is five foot wide by three foot deep an six an a half tall

PRO Mix is solid and soilless so no bug probs. Earth Juice is organic, simple, cheap, and flat out works. Very simple and effective.

EJ is bottled nutes. Pro mix is a safe soil less medium.

Here is a Super Soil recipe that I based my organic/natural soil off of:

8- Large bags of High quality Organic potting soil with a coco and Mycorrhizae
1- 25-50 pounds of Organic Worm castings
5 lb. Steamed Bone meal
5 lb. Bloom bat Guano
5 lb. Blood meal
3 lb. Rock Phoshate
¾ cup Epson salts
½ to 1 Cup cup Sweet Lime ( Dolimite)
½ Cup Azomite ( Trace Elements)
2- TBS Powdered Humic Acid

You can scale it down for a smaller grow. I did not include the Azomite, Rock Phosphate, or Bat Guano. I am adding a kelp/humic acid supplement, the occasional addition of extra epsom salt, as well as a silica supplement. The plants love it, when you get to flower it is a good idea to supplement with a mild bloom nutrient of your choice.

I used a bag of fox farm ocean forest, a bag of edna's best, and half a bag of black gold for my base soil. This soil is hot so do not use it stand alone. Fill your pot about 1/2 to 2/3 way up with it and then add some mild soil (like black gold) on top so the plants can acclimate. If using solo cups for seedlings put about 1" or less in the bottom and fill the rest with the mild soil.

Yeah I kinda want a soil with every thing I need in a good soil kinda already in it so all I got to do is all nutes in here an there when they need it I didn't want to go an spend a grip on a million things in it to put jus to make it good

I think for a noob advising to go soil less right off the bat is bad idea.

The soil mix automatically PH buffers and is far more forgiving with mistakes. If concerned about nute burn fill the pot 1/4 with super soil... no need for nutes for at least 4 weeks.

I should add that perlite should be added to the mix as well. Good luck

First of all, if it's not your own vermicompost than you're clueless on organics. Organics is overwhelming for a noob.

Wow, so a noob who for all we know is living in an apartment is supposed to make his own vermicompost? How about he just want to grow some healthy weed without a bunch of chemicals and is looking for advice on a strategy. I don't know that starting a debate about what is "really organic" on a noob board generally, or on this thread specifically is appropriate or helping the OP at all...

First time grower in this thread is asking for advice on organic soil. blood meal $7, bone meal 5, earthworm castings 25, 2 bags of good soil 25-30, epsom salt 3, dolomite lime 15, kelp 15. It isn't close to hundreds.

Get a Rubbermaid tub or mix on a tarp, let "cook" for 1 week to 1 month, mix occasionally before use. Alot of this is common sense, give people some credit.

If you search either here in RIU or on the web for TGA Subcool's Super Soil recipe, that's a soil recipe for the entire growth of the plant. Very rarely does one have to add anything to feed the plant. It's all in the soil to begin with, and it's all organic.

It requires mixing up a big batch of it in an open area and letting it ferment (some people call it "cook") in the sun for about a month. What you end up with is a really rich soil that sustains the plant through all phases of growth. When you pot your seedlings into it, you do layer something like perlite on the bottom for drainage. You can find the recipe and the instructions all over the place online. And if you don't have space to mix it up, you can buy the mix all done and ready to go. You can look for that online, too, and they'll ship it.

So I think that's what you're looking for. If you're completely new to growing, you may want to focus on other aspects of the grow learning curve and go with Super Soil when you've had some practice and have gotten to at least one harvest.

Get some Roots 707 and add in 1/4 pumice or lava rock. Stay away from floating perlite. Top dress an inch with some worm castings and lobster compost or crab shell meal. Really, there are so many ways. I'd just stay away from your own mixes until you do more reading and get some experience. Fox Farm is another solid option but beware of bugs.

Yeah I think I'm jus going to get it already mix in a bag some a lil more dummy proof I don't even think that shop carries all that stuff but I do know they carry that ocean forest fox farm I seen that an that may have a few cheaper lines of organic soil but not a lot I live on the east coast so we don't have a lot of grow shops around my way like as on the west coast

I agree with Kryptoniteglo. There are also many people who just use FFOF and add some perlite, worm castings, and dolomite lime. Simple and effective, they get good results. Putting seedlings straight into even that could burn them though, I would also get a bag of a lighter soil for seedlings. Having plants on auto-pilot is nice on a first grow.
