So I got a jack herer seed, germed, planted, its about 1.5 2 inches and growing for about 4 days. Pic is below but when is it a good time to transfer it to a larger pot, and I heard a safe technique to let it veg for a little bit then clone and immediatly flower to see if it is a male or fem. Is this a good idea or should I just let it go along keeping a close eye on it to find the sex asap. I would like to mother if its a female and continue to clip clones off of.

You could probably stay in that cup for a couple of weeks from now.

By putting it into flower as you plan to might be strange. I hear a clone should be about 3 inches in length, and you won't get a 3" branch to cut until probs around 4 weeks veg, if that. So it depends when you plan to take the clone? If you plan to clone that plant in a week then I don't see how you could. Yiou would probs have to top the plant and use the top as a clone. Cos I can't see any branches being ready to clone from by then. Also after this the plant you put into flower would probably just be a stump.

So depends how long you plan to veg?

2-3 weeks sounds about right for transplanting. I usually wait until I know the sex to transplant so I'm not wasting soil on a male. Me my self think that the cloning method to find sex is ridiculous! What I do is place her into my flowering room(12/12) for about 4-5 days and the plant will sex. Then if it's a female i place her back in to the veg room (20/4) male i toss her in the garbage. You can do this when the plant has 5-6 sets of leaves.bongsmilie

Everyone has their own technique. I solely clone for sex because I belive your method is silly. It places more stress than needed on your plant.

Don't get it twisted; I'm not saying your way is wrong, and mine is right. There's just more than one way to skin a cat. Everyone has their own style and I'm sure the OP will find what works for him and he's most comfortable with.
