Quick lighting question

Can you go 24/0 on seedlings for two weeks and then switch to 20/4 once they're transferred to hydro for the rest of veg? Especially if you're fighting heat issues?

of course you can... but why wouldn't you go 18/6 or 20/4 from the start?

They were under a 24w T5 for 10 days 24/0 and that was my plan for veg. Not sure why....I think I read it in the grow bible. Now i've got heat issues and res temp issues. Not bad, but wanted to get on top of that.
