I've been running coco coir in 2-3 gal smart pots but I'm getting tired of the mess do you guys think I would notice a huge difference in growth/yield by switching to 3 gal nursery pots with a 5 - 6 six week veg then 8 week flower I know they'd be fine in the fabric pots as they take longer to get root bound not sure about plastic pots

I think you should do a side by side comparo to see what works better and let us know. 3 gal is a pretty common size and that's what I use. I could never fill a 5 gal bucket with roots and never noticed a difference switching to 3 gal buckets.

I use 11L pots with coco.

Nearly 3USG

I upped to 18L nearly 5USG last grow.

I noticed zero difference other than taller plants.

I give my plants around 6 weeks of veg and training followed by 9 weeks on average of flower.

I'm sticking with 11's.

Also means I only have to buy 1x50L bag of coco per grow.

Yea I agree with both replies no difference really but height ,more dirt, and less oxygen to the roots with plastic pots so I guess we can say less roots development which equals in most cases less yield . I grow in coco and 2 gal smart pots as well so I understand the mess :wall: If your referring to the perlite/coco falling off everywhere when you water, I heard of a suggestion to put a layer of hydration on top to help keep the coco in better. Your post just made me realize I need to try this haha but yea also in my flower tent I have a drip system set up so no mess at all. I say stick with the smart pots but like 70's said do a side by side and see what works for you!
