yeah, outdoor season is really just wrapping up for the most part, maybe a month or so ago at max.. if you can, start a baby inside around febuary or so, let it get nice and big and healthy, then around the first week or so of may you can move her outside, depending on the weather of course.. you just want to make sure that there is no longer a risk of a freeze coming in and killing them (it)..
Start them inside if you can, then dig a hole, fill it with whatever soil mixture you want, then transplant and keep a net around the plant to protect from rabbits and other woodland creatures until it's big enough. April is usually good.
