Quick Question! Need a Quick answer!

I have my fan attached to my light, then out 6 feet to my filter in the next room.

Question: Should the fan be attached directly to my filter? Or am I okay?

if ur filter is not atached to ur fan then whats ur filter doing? just sitting?
