quick question on having seperate rooms for veg and flower

I tried a quick search but was exactly sure how to search for this. I've always been under the impression that i had to have veg and flowing plants completely sealed off from each other light, nuts solution, air, everything. I always figured if pollen/hormones from your flowering plants got to your veg plants they would start to flower as well

But someone today told me that you only have to seal them from each others light and feed them a diffrent nuts solution. That i could (in theory) have two plants side by side as long as the veg one got 18hours and the flower got only 12hours of light they would not effect each other

is this true? thanks in advance

some growers that dont have 2 rooms they use the flowering room for there moms or to veg as well and when the flowering plants sleep they put the vegging plants somewhere warm and where there is some light source.

MJ is a photo peiod species. Think of it in terms of the plant in nature. Outdoors in april may march you plant and the day light hours are at near there max and continue untul mid august. This is your veg period.

So indoors when vegging, the plants need atleat 16-18 hours of light. When you reduce the photo period, ie (the time you allow them to recieve light) to 12 hours light, 12 dark the plant thinks its nearing winter and needs to produce fruit. This is true with many outdoor flowers and fruit bearing trees and plants.

You want to replicate the outdoors as much as possible in all aspects. The nice kicker indoors is you are the god of when to flip them. Hope that helps you some bro.
