Okay, I have two plants growing in a closet under 6- 55watt cfl's just started them two weeks ago, they are going great so far, but my problem is I can't get the temperature below 85 degrees and humidity is as low as 20%. This is my first grow and I'm wondering if this is going to be a problem and if so what i can do to counteract the low humidity?
85 isn't too bad. Better than 95. But not as good as 75. I
had heat issues with my lights too.
Try freezing a few 2 or 3 liter bottles filled with water, and put those in there, leave the tops off, it may offset the humidity
as well as cool things off. A container of water will help with humidity as well.
Ventilation is
super important. Plants needs to breath just like people. So when the door is closed while you sleep,
your plants are suffocating, or at least in need of more air.
You can build a tent/cab in the closet with panda film, make a light trap, and add active ventilation, and then you will need to keep
the closet door open 24/7/365, maybe even with a fan blowing fresh air into the closet, preferably toward your air intake.
Panda film is pretty cheap. Light traps are easy to build, and fans are cheap. And the faster the air is exchanged, the cooler the
temps will remain.
Best of luck with this.
