Quick Vegetative/Flowering Question.

My buddy has this plant going and it's doing something I've never seen a plant do before. Of course, I'm not extremely experienced either. So I come to you guys. Basically, where the internode is - the two leaves sprouted (where the buds come in during flowering). But we're still in the vegetative stage and the plant is still small and we're seeing EXPLOSIVE growth from the internodes.

So I'm worried that my buddy screwed up the light schedule somehow (he claims he did not) - and I'm worried the plant thought she was entering flowering so she started having all that growth from the internodes.

I dunno take a look and please help! haha.

The second photo shows the EXPLOSIVE growth from the internodes.

lol thats a good sign in veg, it dosnt mean that shes flowering just because she has EXPLOSIVE growth, she looks great, just keep her on 18/6 like she is then go 12/12 when your ready :leaf:

awesome - so it's not a stressed plant that's gonna herm on me or something? at least as far as those signs go?

in fact, it may even be a sign of positivity in the sense that my buddy may get a pretty good sized harvest? possibly? haha

as long as it's a healthy plant thats all i care about.

Hey Dude, the growth is a normal sign. The reason it seems explosive is just because it's faster than what u have experienced in the 1st stage of growth. It has in a sense come now from the seedling stage to the true vegative stage. The seedling stage is painfully slow due to the fact that the plant has little green matter to gather light for photosynthesis and a very small root mass to feed the plant, resulting in this slow growth. At a certain point the plant develops enough foilage n enough roots that it can take off quite rapidly and grow an inch a day (depending on light n a few other things), this is when the true vegative growth begins.

Good Luck & Happy Tokin :joint:

Awesome brotha! Thanks again! Now my plant is not growing an inch a day. And I know the strain itself could just be set to not grow that fast. But what type of stuff can I do to make it grower bigger, faster?

I want to bring in more lights because I'm using CFL's. But would a c02 unit help with growth?

And do you think at the size that it's at - I should transplant it from the 16oz party cup it's in - into my 5 gallon pot?

thanks again.

Yes i recommend transplanting now, just do it carefully and ur growth should not be halted. An inch a day is a level of growth you will see when the plant has been vegging for 5 or so weeks. But then again i use HID lights..

As for a CO2 unit, wat where u thinking, a bottle or a Generator?

Depending on how many plants u have, then a bottle of CO2 would probably be a waste of money, if this is the only plant than try this: HomeMade CO2

thanks for the email, i appreciate your kind words.

the plant looks fantastic! the reasons the plant might be boosting its internodes: fertilizer, running out of vertical root space, genetics, or your just doin a good job. no deficiencies that i see, so keep it up.

in terms of fucked up lighting sched, plants can usually just go back to full veg at this point with no concequences. :peace:

holy shit is that you in your profile picture? haha me and my buddy can only hope for those kind of results teddy!
but ya i think it may be an ak cross. i'll definitely keep you updated on pictures as it goes along. i'm not going to do a grow journal just because it's not even my plant (my friends setup). but i'll show you whatsup when it gets bigger and i start it flowering.
