Switch the lights when they are roughly half to a third of the size you want them to be when they are finished.

And it makes a big difference if they are cuttings or seedlings........

About 1 day from 12/12 to three weeks.
If you veg long enough they'll sho pre flowers and you can see then.

About a week after switching the lights.

You'll see the little balls forming in clusters on the nodes on the males vs. the females which shows a few hairs sticking out of a calyx.

some strains will show preflowers about 32 days into veg.if you switch to 12/12 before then then it may take upto a few weeks.
