Raised Beds....Looking for yield only..

I am in the process of buying everything i need to get my room started. My room is 13x12 and I am planning on puting 3 5x6 bed and one 5x5 because the door is in the way. The beds are 12inch deep (2x12 boards). Im going to put pond liner and drains in the beds as well. I have built 2 of the 4 beds allready. I will take pics tonight and post them.

8 Global Greenhouse Ballasts

all using 1000W HPS bulbs.


Beds are obviously using soil. If i give each plant a 6x6 inch area that would be 99 plants per bed. (5x6) area.

I WANT YIELD AND WHAT STYLE DO PEOPLE THINK I SHOULD USE TO GET THE BEST YIELD?

IM ALSO THINKING OF TRYING TO BUILD SOMETHING THAT RUNS ACROSS THE BASE OF THE PLANTS WITH 100 WATT ENVIRLIGHTS ON IT. I HAVNT PUT IT ON PAPER YET, BUT I KNOW ITS POSSIBLE. WOULD THIS BOTTOM LIGHT HELP A LOT IF I PUT 6 TO 10 100WATT HPS BULBS PER BED. uNDER THE PLANTS?

thats alot of smell and seems like a lot of area that you cant get access to in the middle, ya know?

as far as strain keep classic Kush or maybe something Purple, Purple maneater is around somewhere, and they have decent yields of a good indica, plus htey ahve been around for along time so they have good genes.

Actually I have 9 foot ceiling and i built a stand that allows me to reach all parts of the beds. the beds are in the corners and i have a foot between all of them.
I was planning on running 2 12 inch outtakes and one 10 inch intake. I figured to filters should do it.

I dont know if I should go with 99 plants or half that?

I have a Purp/OG kush cross i could use. The leaves are twice as big as my head though after a month. I was thinking that would block a lot of light. I need an think leaved plant i assume?

what do you think about a big bud/ northern light cross?
I hear its the best yielding strain...?
I cant find any clones of that strain though. I hate dealing with seeds

Just my opinion here my friend......I'd think about possibly using 5G buckets instead of raised beds. My thoughts here are that you may find it easier to manage the plants since each one is mobile, and when time comes to harvest and regrow, it may be easier again to deal with used soil in buckets rather than beds. Lastly, is this a concrete floor? You'll want good drainage so water wont build up in the beds.
Anyway, as I say, just an opinion nothing else. Always helps to have a second set of eyes...good luck and good grow brother

I tilted the beds 2 inches so water will drain. I will have 4 drainage holes with tubes into 5 ga buckets. Water will never hit the wood or floor. Also i take all the roots out of the soil between runs. I will flush the soil between runs as well. all the beds ive seen produce much more weight than any form of pots. Another thing i should of mentioned is i will harvest every 2 months. i have a seperate clone/veg place.


I think im going to go with t beds of 99 plants and the other two with half as meany just to see the difference.

I would strongly reconsider your grow. If you are a US grower then I wouldnt go over 99 plants. If you are using 8 lights I would set up a 8 room system each housing 12 plants ... move the plants room to room 1 time every week. ( flowering ) and you will be harvesting 12 plants per week. This allows you to stay away from the 10 year MMS involved with 100 plants. Also you will be pushing out nice output ... this system also allows each 12 plant set to be a different strain .. .without running into plants outgrowing each other.

Good point......
To be honest, were im from people dont listen to the laws about marijuana. 8,000 watts will run me about 550 a month. Within a 3 miles radious I can name 5 people with 12,000 watts or more running. Im considered extremely small compared to the majority in my town.
Seriously though thanks for the thought though, that is why i put this thread up. I want to make sure i went over everything in my head and thought it all out.
You are right though. I can only have 99 for myself legally. My dad, brothers, gf, and about 10 friends have the same card and dont use them most the time so im not worried about getting into to much trouble, i have 5 cards on my door at all times.

Here are some pics of 2 of the 4 beds i will have in the room. They still need pond liner and drainage holes. Also there are a couple pics of the draninage hardware.
