Rapid rooters/Rootits/Root riots

Last week my hydro shop chick pushed some root it cubes my way and because her daughters well hot i didnt want to offend her so stumped up the £5 for a tray of 24. Ive been using rockwool cubes with good success, they are tempermental as hell and a very fiddley at best, but thought id better try these rootit cubes. I threw in some tap water and few non mj seeds and they came up a treat with zero ferts or any attention, which is not my experience in rockwool.

I had no clue how to use them but they seemed to do everything for you. They change colour to a light brown when they need water and all i did then was a quick in straight out dunk in a cup of water. This just seemed about right but even then they seem hard to overwater as they seem to hold a lot of air.

If i added to much water i just squeeze the bottom and that seems to make it perfect again. So happy with their ease i cut a couple clones last night and popped a mj seed in another cube as these need some carefull considerations.

I could almost forget rockwool for these as their heads and tails better in my opinion.

Anyone use them and have any advice like ph (just been going straight ph6), fert buildups, watering them or just want to drop by and say they are the dogs b@!!ocks...

I myself, was in my Hydro shop and the same thing happened.
The guy, when I asked for rock wool cubes gave me root riot cubes saying they were better. I had been having low survival rates on my clones and wanted to try cubes. Well... upon going from potting soil in a plastic glass to root riot cubes my survival rates went up from 20% to 101%! All my clones live and it is great! Last time I was in there I picked up an extra 50 pkg of root riot cubes as I am hooked.

i use root riot cubes and really like them; i use them for new sprouts and on the occasion when i clone, they work out great. if i transplant earlier than i normally do, it seems to hold the root ball together a little better (until it gets to a certain size, obviously). and, as the OP said, you can easily tell when they need water. they're great. i buy them by the 100 count.

I used oasis cubes for many years. Rockwool cubes, on and off, for many years. I only use RR's nowadays.

Thanks peeps they sure do seem hard to mess up in, not sure how best to water or how wet and dry to get them but there dosent seem to be any negative impact. I just dropped a weed seed pointy side down in the hole, its resting at the bottom so day or so and should be above surface (fingers crossed).
