I have recently moved to the legal state of Colorado and I am preparing a large batch of soil for this and future grows. Had a bout with spider mites and quit for about 4-5 months. I was doing some poor man grows and wanted to step it up a notch. I've never made a soil with this many ingredients. So I wanna see how it turns out. High chitin (crab meal and insect frass) is supposed to help plant build up defense mechanisms and neem and karanja meal is supposed to help ward off pests as well.
I got a number of my amendments from BuildASoil, Kelp4Less (guano), some local, and some on eBay.
My mix is approx 180-200 gallons, mixing in two 54" swimming pools. One flower mix and I suppose one Veg/Base mix, approx 90-100 gal each.
Do I need more EWC?
(planned on adding some more)
Do you think this mix is going to be too hot?
Both base and flower mix. (I will be using 1/4 to 1/3 per plant on flowers maybe 50/50 complete mix with quality potting soil for established vegative plants)
Did I add too many rock dusts?
Should I add a small amount of wood ash? 4-5 cups.
Should I add small amount of coffee grounds? 4-5 cups?
Should I treat with avid or floramite before I flip the switch? I know it's not organic (or is it). I just don't want mites again! The 21 day residual effect is very attractive to me. I won't use during flower unless its before week 2.
Hopefully my PH will be okay!
I love the idea of making a quality organic soil where I will only have to add SOME of the ingredients back into the soil each grow. I should be good on rock dusts for a few right?
Don't criticize the vermiculite, just wanting as many different things I can have to have more trace minerals available to the plants. Am I in for a big bad surprise?
Will most likely be feeding with only teas. Once a week???
I have been vegging for about 4 months in 5 gal and they are going to be transferred to 18 gallon pots. And I suppose I will be vegging another 30-45 days to cook the soil. Been defoliating little by little and pinching tops to try to slow the growth down, they are taller than me! They are only lightly trained right now. Will start bending plants down slowly when flowering and transplant starts. Running out of room in veg space and the new flower room needs drywall.

I emailed Earth Juice about the amount of volume per 2lbs of Rainbow Mix Pro and they said...
"For Rainbow Mix Pro:
Grow would be about 6-7 cups, Bloom would be about 4-5 cups.
-Sevon"
The application rate of Rainbow Mix Pro Bloom is 1-4 tbsp per gallon of soil. Me wanting the mix on the medium strength, since I added some extra bat guano. It comes to around 12.5 cups for 100 gallons of soil. Which would convert to approx 5lbs of Rainbow mix for 100 Gallons.
