Ratios to mix soil/coco/perlite

I'm wanting to do a little experimenting. I've always grown in strait foxfarm soil and got great results in 3 gallon pots. But I'm wanting to start running bigger plants in 5 gallon buckets and veg in 3 gallon pots. it's over an hour drive to get soil so I wanna start playing with coco. So I was wondering if anyone has ever had any luck mixing say 1/3 soil 1/3 coco 1/3 perlite ? Or maby different ratios? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Indoor or out?
Inside, I would skip the soil, a cocopeat mix with hydropnic feed will outgrow a month old soil seedling in a week.

I'm in the process of uprooting and replanting all my soil saplings to manual watering drain to waste hydro, while I set up my shit for NTF or DWC. There is more than a year left for the laws to be passed to cement the legal status here, so not going to run a fancy system if pork patrol can just confiscate it. I just got tired of the soil plants dragging their feet compared to hydro. Most on here use coco and perlite. I hate perlite, so I use coco and chunky vermiculite. Not really going for any set ratio, just add till it looks right, I guess about 20 - 25% verm or perlite, I never measure stuff like that out.

Ya I have been a lol scared to run coco bc my tap water had really bad ph swings when I gave Rockwall tables a shot. But I just found out reverse osmosis systems are a lot cheaper then I imagined.

30% perlite and a good quality coco have had my best results.

When i had none of those i tried pebbles like people have on there driveway etc. Didnt get too bad results actually. Mixed with coco bricks which i dont like.

I started mine off just using aquarium water. It does just great until I switch over to nutes .
Nutes don't need to be expensive, I spend less than $10 for a three pack kit, with a kilo part and a kilo part b, and a bag of mpk for bloom.
Over there I suggest you look at Humboldt fertiliser range for value for money.

I would add a bit of potassium to the starter plug as early root development actually feeds quite heavy on this.
Shortages make the plant go purple.... The other time they go purple is when the roots are too cold to absorb potassium, so two different possible scenarios with the same symptom but different treatments.

Brick is less than ideal, but works in a pinch.

Make sure to rinse well first, cheap brands are just washed with sea water.

I have a question for you guys, I was tired of using a shovel mix everything with, so I made a 55 gallon drum that will spin with a hand crank. My question is how many revolutions it would take to mix thoroughly, 20, 50, 100 what do you guys think?
