RDG Trainwreck Feminized Question

Hello all. SWIM has 5 feminized Trainwreck seeds from Royal Dutch Genetics. SWIM has one grow under his belt. 3 AK 48 FEM. That hermied out on them (one had the bananas, and it pollinated the other two :wall:) After doing some research about feminized seeds, SWIM found out that FEM. beans are prone to going herm. So the question at hand, is there anything SWIM can do to prevent the plants from going herm? Here is a little info on what SWIM plans to do:

Two Trainwreck beans.
Grows in soil (FFOF).
Two T5's for VEG.
One 400 hps for FLOWER.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as SWIM does not want his FAVORITE strain to herm out after all that hard work :finger:

Much love!

Had this recommended to me a little while back. Haven't tried it personally, but the person who suggested it to me said they used it on plants from seeds which all always hermed, after using this product they said it was all girls and no balls.

My opinion is that fem seeds going herm is simply bad luck or an unidentified issue with your grow room. Go over the grow area thoroughly for light leaks, ensure temps are kept regular and keep your fingers crossed.

Good luck in the future. Peace and Love!

I remember reading about SWIM before, too bad they hermed on you. I have used nothing but fem seed for two years, about a dozen grows of six plants or more and had just one fem seed herm on me.

yea it was unfortunate. very. SWIM decided to harvest early, and results were subpar to say the least. SWIM didn't want their medicine full of beans, but now realizes, SWIM should have held out a couple more weeks. TRICS were half clear, half cloudy. SWIM learned a lot from that grow though. SWIMS biggest mistake was using Miracle Grow perlite mixed with FFOF, and didn't realize it was a slow release formula that lasted 3 months. SWIM added the perlite a month before harvest, and during flushing, all that excess NITROGEN burned the poo out of SWIM's plants. Other than that, and harvesting early in fear of buds full of beans, the grow went without a hitch. Nice bushy plants, tight nugs, no insect problems, no mold issues. SWIM thinks he stressed those AK's a little too much though (4 transplants, maybe a light leak or two, overflushing with the perlite). SWIM still has a lot to learn, but is very anxious to start these trainwreck beans!

please stop using "SWIM"

It is ridiculous and makes SWIM sound like an idiot.

Feminized seeds aren't prone to hermie any more than a regular seed. Cannabis will produce "bananas" late in flowering when no males are present. It happens. Its not the end of the world, they usually just pollinate the surrounding bud which is usually lower popcorn anyway.
