rdwc with external res question

okay so i have made up 6 5 gallon buckets all interconnected in a tent but i have i slight problem......... i am planning on running the res outside the tent but the only holes in the tent to lead the tubes outside the tent to the res are higher up than the buckets so the contents of the res would just empty out into the buckets straight away rather than draining down at the same rate as the buckets so rather than the res holding alot of water and meaning i can change the water every 3 ish days i would be topping up every day make sense?


so the only soloution i see is to install some sort of flow switch similar to a toilet, has anyone done this if so can you show me pics or a link to the one you used i would really appreciate it.

I know you may not want to, but surely making a new hole in the tent would be far simpler solution?

You could light proof it and tape it all down afterwards, or even sew it.
