read this about male plants

The male marijuana plant could be useless to some people and helpful to others. It only depends on what you want it for. For instance, if your a stoner (like me) and just looking for a good high, than no, a male plant is basically useless. If your a grower and you really know what your doing and know the process/secrets to harvesting, than you could use the male plant to get the seeds. If you replant the seeds in completely different soil/pot and raise it female it will produce the same plant with 85% more THC, thus getting you stoned.

so i get male plants are completely useless....or are they?? i know people on this site tend to have more valid info. but they say here that you can replant which is what i have done and grow it female... so is this person implying there is a method to growing female plants and if so how... i doubt it tho unless its already a femenized seed

I read that quote and didn't think it suggested that you can turn a male plant into a female plant. Seems to say you can use a male plant to get seeds. You can. You can use the male plant to pollinate the female plant and get seeds. You can harvest the seeds from the female, and plant them. Some of those seeds could be female and produce a level of THC significantly higher than that of the male. I don't know the percentage. Basically, weed propagation 101. Or whatever is. I'm a bit stoned, but I'm 99.999999999999% sure I'm right. If I wasn't stoned, I would be 100%. If I was really stoned, then perhaps only 75%. You get the picture.

might as well move that male and flower it out seperately so that there are no seeds in your buds. then the seeds off your male can be used for the next crop, but you cant "raise it female", theres always a chance of it being another male or herm

The question is how would you get seeds unless you already had a female plant to fertilize with the male plant? Now let's say that by some really bad luck you somehow got stuck with only a male plant from some strain you particularly want to grow buds of. And say you had some female plants of another strain on hand. You could fertilize that female with your premium male and then grow those seeds out and take a good female from that crop and fertilize it with the original premium male. Do that a couple more times and you would eventually have an almost pure female version of your premium male plant. I don't mean that the seeds would produce purely female plants, I mean that they would produce male and female plants with the strain characteristics of the original male plant.

so then if a plant is said male, it wont produce bud??? and ive heard you can smoke it but you would need to smoke 4x the amount

males dont make bud. all they are really good for is pollination. it is said you can smoke the pollen sacs and some people swear by it that it will get you high. most people just save it to go into their hash stash

huh interesting. ive never smoked hash. what is used to make it. and i see alot of people talking about trimming their plants. what exactly do you trim?? i have to keep my plants to a certain height because im growing them outside my apartment complex and if they get to tall its way to obvious

im not looking to keep males for seeds....but if i come across a VERY nice looking one COVERED in resin i will keep it and make lots of lovery seeds !!
