Ready for harvest? Don't want to go too early, first time.

I've attached two pics of an outdoor plant which I wasn't expecting to get this far with (first time grow) so I have no idea how long it's been in the ground for, or flowering.. but roughly 8 months give or take.
The first picture is of the fattest and uppermost bud, everything below this has a lot more pistils that are browned off.
The second picture is the plant itself. I've pulled a lot of dead and yellowed leaves off already.
The buds seemed to have swollen a bit since I checked on her last time two days ago.
I've checked high and low with a 40x loupe and all I can see are what I think are milky trichs however I didnt get the loupe til late so I don't know what the clear ones look like (apart from the net)... I can not find any more than a couple of amber trichs.
I plan to take it down in 4 days time as I have the day off, I can push it another day after that or not for another 9 days til a public holiday...

Any advice welcome!!!!

If it's not in nine days it's in another 17 due to work and the availability of my gf to help. I'm guessing it'll take a full day to trim, hang and make cannabutter between two people... It's 5ft around.
It's had nothing but water every 4 or so days for over a week now. Will it survive on water only for another two?
I had an oven dried popcorn bud last week and while it got me higher for longer than what I normally buy it tasted foul and left me with a bit of a headache so I knew it wasn't ready.

Also forgot to mention there's been a little bit of fresh pistil growth.

That doesn't mean it wasn't Ready.... It means it wasn't Grown, dried and cured properly *Shrugs

id wait the 17 days tbh and if its lasted that long without nute its obv getting them from elsewhere

Go by trichomes not pistils. You want as many cloudy as possible. You don't want clear or amber.

I would let those pistils recede into the bud! and I'd say wait the 17 days as well. Those trichomes shouldn't be ready until the plant LOOKS finished. Atleast another 2 weeks, minimum

If all goes well it should have had two weeks curing by the time it's my birthday. .. anticipation and excitement is almost too much to handle!
I'll try and post a picture of some middle and lower buds so you can see how much further they are along.
I'll also try and start a grow journal for my 400w mh/hps 3x3x7 multi strain scrog. I'm at 3 weeks veg under cfl and they are coming along nicely. . Just waiting for the screen to be compete before I put them in the tent.

Fenian.. I understand quick dry gives bad taste but as for the headache it has been fed organically for atleast the last 5 months, before that I used miracle grow cheap stuff.
The soil it's in is the veg patch, always fed with dynamic lifter, compost and dug over with horse manure yearly... really need the plant done so I can dig over and get my winter veg crop started lol

I can't speak for others. But weed always gives me a headache, when the high comes down I feel like a 300lb lady with high heels was just stepping on my head... Try making some medibles, or hash... Vaporizing does not give me headaches... Neither do Dabs actually

Headaches are not something I suffer from unless I've downed a bottle of bourbon and not rehydrated before sleep so I thought it was odd this stuff gave me a headache.
I only really smoke bongs, pipes or the occasional joint... What's a dab?

Oil Dabs are GOD!! Back in the day it was knife Hits... You gotta get a couple of things for your bong, and some oil... You'd love em

Yes, BHO, oil hash, homeyComb Hash what have you. you take a torch and heat the plate till it's really hot then swing it under the bell and drop the dab on and hit the bong and that's about it.

Another thing you can do it get a nail and a dome, which is what I use. Basically, you'd take the bowl out of your bong, and put a male to male adapter in there, then stick a glass or titanium nail into the opening where it'll sit poking out, then you heat it up and put this glass dome on top there to keep the smoke in, then you touch the dabber to the nail and hit the bong.
its personal preference really. I prefer the dome and nail cause it looks cleaner. If you get a nail, get a titanium one.

And you can always look on youtube. Search Oil dabs and a bunch of stuff will pop up.


If your Co Op doesn't have Oil you might need to make your own, or get it elsewhere. Your local Headshop will break it down for you(make sure to bring your Bong in with you) and get you the correct pieces that will fit your bong. I've seen easy cool rigs for a hundo

So between new pistil growth and old it seems only about 50-70% have darkened and curled yet it looks like 100% trichs are milky, glad I asked here and didn't chop tomorrow as it seems the buds are swelling up, even on the lower branches where it seemed they were just going to stay popcorn like. Hopefully see some amber soon as I prefer the CBN effect.
There is however some weird spotting .

This is affecting 30-40% of all leaves and most have tips which are turning black.
Being only 2 weeks from harvest I'm hoping all is good and it has just hit an unturned patch of horse manure or freshly dug compost.

Ack.. spider mites... 2 weeks out so I guess I just live with it and pray.

Heavy rain and wind ripped a branch off, hung and trimmed this morning.. The rest are coming off on Thursday as the forecast isn't getting any better, don't want any more trichs stripped off
