Ready or not.

Reading about when to harvest is like asking what came first, the chicken or the egg.
This is a picture of Blue Widow, yes, stunted but robust, she's been flowering since the middle of March. I see an amber trich or two, I squeezed her colas from the middle, hard as rocks. I did look with my microscope, which makes me totally wishy washy on ripeness. Whaddaya think?
The pic of the whole plant is from a week or two ago, close-ups from yesterday.

yeah, that doesn't look even close imo.. got tons of time left on her imo.. looks great though, just no where near ready is all..

I have mixed emotions about ending her short but impressive life, but I'll do the right thing when the time comes. :'(

best way to know if ready or not is by checking her under a microscope. size dont metter so does smell. just check for 40-50% amber and same for milky trichomes. dont cut her befor that no metter how thrilled you are. the last few weeks are nurve breaking days and she'll repay you for every day u let her live trust me - she looks great and she stil got alot of green leafs wich means she havent used all her sugars. my guess is at least 2-3 weeks of Impatience and nail biting befor cutting down and smoking (pay attention to drying and curing) - has she been flushed yet? you must flush for the last 3-4 weeks.

What weedy said... Buy the microscope from local grow shop they are cheap. Start looking at the trichomes now so you can see what they look like when they are clear. They look like little pistils with a clear bubble on top. Once they are getting ready to harvest you will see that bubble start to bulge and turn milky white and eventually Amber. Harvest when about 50% are amber colored. Good Smokin to ya!!
