Ready to Harvest.... Rain, Rain, Rain!!!

Dilemma, Just checked and Trichromes are milky plants ready to go! Wanted to let plants dry out in the soil for a couple days before cutting but the forecast calls for rain for the next 6-8 days straight!
WHAT TO DO???
Should I say screw it and chop them damp?
I also though to take the plant and root ball out of the soul and let a fan lightly blow on them to help them dry for a day or 2

Also confused??? Read in "the bible" plants get a touch more potent by cutting in morning... but also read that a lot of peeps leave the plant in darkness for 24+ hours before cutting. How do you cut in morning when most potent if you have in dark?

Your most pressing issue is possible mold and bud rot. Can u chop and then trim and then hang dry? In a garage, barn, with as much airflow as you can get away with

the leaving the plants in total darkness only works with plants in pots that can be moved easily ...or unless you could cover a plant with a garbage can or tarp outdoor and give it total darkness...do not take the rootball when you get your outdoor plants..just cut the stem..usually the weathermen are fucking clueless..they been calling for rain the last 3 days and the next 2...so far we have gotten less than an 1/16 of an inch...

i would be most worried about budrot. i have problems with that around this time of year as the nights getting cooler and the daytime humidity. i have checked plants over, then come back 2 days later and find many tops turning to mush.

if your happy with the trichs and ready to go, then i would chop them now. with the higher humidity from all the rain will also help the hanging plants to dry slower, which is good, but you will also need to know when to step in and adjust the humidity lower with a dehumidifier before mold sets in.

good luck and let us know how your making out.

Corso -You must live near me, same forecast but no rain, thank baby jesus, we've had enough around here lately and I already lost some due to mold!

nine - They probably mean they recommend cutting before or near first light in the a.m. , while it's still dark, before the sun comes up. Good luck bro!

You are right! Fukin weathermen suck!! was suppose to rain so I make covers for all the buckets so they would not get wetter... I wake up today not a cloud in the sky and 80deg out!! Stupidly I watered today and later on looked at trich's ...40-60 milky and 1 or 2 amber.. so its time! Gonna thankfully be sunny and 80 tomorrow too! So I am going to let them sizzle in the heat all day and after dark lock them away for 24hrs then Snip Snip! Hopefully the soul will dry up a bit! I would love to let them go another week to tighten up more B/C IMO they could be a little denser, but I can not risk the rain!! Already had to put them inside 2 nights last week cause it got down to like 37deg. Not going to lose everything for an extra few days!

37 degrees wont kill them..give em another week and let them buds swell..first sign of any mold and id yank em...but i always try to let them finish ...i like the stoniest shit and let them amber up and peak potency..good luck...the weatherman fucked up again today...said rain and we got none..mostly sunny n some clouds.

as generally stated above, prob not a good idea to harvest damp buds, it will promote bud mold/ rot. someone above suggested a trashbag, this is not a bad idea it will help keep them dry. otherwise try to cover them somehow to protect agaist rain.
bud terpines and trichomes peek a few hours before the sun rises, thats why your plants smell the most at night, this is the principal behind 24 hrs of darkness. the idea is to allow terpines and trichs to peek before harvest, this is also why a trash bag is not a bad idea
and there is no need to take the root ball, it contains no thc, boiling them or doing anything to them post harvest is just rediculous. cut the stalk at the soil line and take only the plant

Hey, its been raining like crazy around here so I pulled my plants inside(they're in pots). They've probably got about 2 weeks left before harvest. Anyone know if this is okay to do and is it better than having them in the rain?

I'm in midwest too and hoping for enough time for the buds to fill out and swell, looking a tad scraggly now but great trichs all over, anyone else waiting for that magical bud boom?
