Hello fellow growers how are you doing?
I started a little grow about two and a half months ago. My setup consists of a growtent, Secret Jardin dr-90(0.9x0.9x1.8m). For lighting i am using a 400w HPS. I have total 6 plants in my grow and they all faced problems in the past, mainly because of the temperatures that easily hit 90 F+ a month ago daily. Now ,as we speak temperature is about 85 F, it is not considered totally ok, but my babies seem to do much better than before.
4 of them have been growing for 8 weeks totally since they were planted. They could be much better, judging from the other pictures i have seen in this wonderful forum, but i believe its ok. The first LSD, i planted it in 5 June and it was the one that faced the most problems, hence the stunted growth. Last, the White Dwarf, it was planted in 25 May. But for about one month i had it growing in my balcony, and i believe it got it way back. It started flowering in 20 June and it was(and it is) too small, i know its an autoflowering strain, but it is about 15 inches and still has time to finish i think. I don't know if anyone of you guys can give me a rough estimate on when it will be ready, by looking at the pics. The tallest one is Emerald Jack by far, its about 20 inches+ and the other are a bit taller than the White Dwarf.
So, i believe its high time i put them into flowering in about 4 days. I have one or two questions concerning flowering and hope you could answer them. I searched the forum before i made the questions, and they have been partially answered but i would like some more input.
a)Concerning the time schedule, currently i have the lights turning off at about 13:00 and turning on at 19:00. To induce flowering to my plants, it would be better to have them stay in the dark for about one day, or i am supposed to just change the time schedule? I want the lights to turn on at 21:00 and close at 9 in the morning. So i could just set the timer to turn on two hours after it would normally switch on? E.g now it switches on at 19:00, could i just set to start functioning at 21:00 and i would be ok?
b)I have the White Dwarf which as stated already, is autoflowering. In the days that are remaining for it to finish, would this change in the photoperiod, from 18 hours of light daily to 12 affect very much its yield?
c)I don't want to put the carbon filter yet. For now there is a faint odor of marijuana in the room i have my babies, but it is really too weak. I have to be next to the tent to smell it. I suppose when the others start flowering, the smell will be much stronger. When am i supposed to put the filter to work? I have heard that the odor starts being strong at about 3-4 weeks of flowering and before this i don't really have to put the carbon filter? Is this true? If it is like that it would suit me, since i am waiting for temps to decrease more. At about 3 weeks from now temps should be pretty much ok since we would be in the middle of September. Also, i have two extractor fans, one for the cooltube and one for the ventilation of the tent, which is extracting the hot air from it. Should i put the filter in the extractor fan i am using for the cooltube or should i combine it with the fan that i use for removing the hot air?
d)Concerning the nutes i will have to give them when they will be flowering, before buds start to appear i am still supposed to give them only veg nutes, is that correct? After they start flowering, i will be giving them both veg nutes in small amounts and more flowering nutes? I am using Bio-Grow and Bio-Bloom, both products by Biobizz.
These are all the questions i have for now guys, hope someone will be able to answer them, i would be glad if someone did.
