Realizing that a dehumidifier is a must and curious as to everyone’s thoughts for a 5x5x almost 7 foot tent?

Initially had to raise the humidity until the plants got larger and transpiring a ton… I have a 4 site rdwc in there so space is limited. Has anyone made and purchases that they have been very happy with for dropping humidity from say almost 80% down to flowering conditions ( say maybe 55%)?
have the tent in my basement which is fairly dry and is currently sitting at around 50% rh

The smallest compressor models start at 22 pint reservoir and mine keeps my rh at 55% for one 4x4 and one 2x2 quite well, but you have to empty them several times per day if you don't set it up to drain constantly. If you don't mind using a bit more power, you can go up a size and a lot of those have 1 gal reservoirs, so you only need to empty those once per day or so. Keep in mind they produce a fair amount of heat, almost as much as a light depending on which one you get. It's an essential item for me, so much so that I always keep a backup on hand, same as my ac unit. I'm happy with my Homelabs unit, and I also had a GE one that worked very well for a long time.

I would probably connect another small tent to the bigger tent, so they circulate and share the same air with 2 active duct fans.

Then put all the extra environmental equipment in the smaller tent, like the dehumidifier and whatnot. Instead of trying to manage the whole room, or cramp the main tent.

You could even seal them off, add a window banger to the smaller "lung tent", and go with co2 enrichment.

You could always trick the sensor, remove the bucket, and rig up your own drain tube to one of the non drain hose hookup types of dehumidifiers.

I could never rely on manually dumping the water, and would come back to a musty room of plants within like 1 day. They fill up quick sometimes, and shut off when they do.

I made sure to get one that a hose can screw into, for 24/7 use.

It's summer no dehumidifier necessary, use a portable ac unit and cool off the basement as a whole and let your tent draw in your 72 basement air . Your tent will be like 83 with 55 rh

If that doesn't work your just not exchanging enough air

You can even take a part almost any dehumidifier, portable or window air conditioner model, and carefully bend the evaporator coil out and away from the rest of the unit, without cracking the thin copper line.

Make a stand right next to the tent, for it to sit on.

Then cut a flap in the tent, stick the coil inside the tent, and seal it back up around the pipes. Hook a fan up to blow though it, and even a drip tray to catch the condensation.

DIY mini split for your tent (or room) for less than $150. ;)
