Red CFL's?

Does a red cfl produce the correct spectrum to help with flowering or are these just gimmick lights?

Gimmick light...when they say "red" spectrum, they're referring to 2700k(thats the color temp.)...2700k for flowering(red), and 6500k for veg(blue)

I have found that the blue cfl works really well for veg,maybe even as good as my 400 but red cfl for flowering is nowhere near as good as HID.

Hum, haven't seen those but my guess is those were made red for decoration.
Like Metas said, the red people refer to is in the 2700K bulbs. Or LED red at 660nm or so.

I maybe need to rephrase my question. The bulb at that link has a 'red' paint on it and I understand what the 2700K means. The question should have been does the 'red' paint increase the bulbs ability to produce more red spectrum (mid 600's) than a normal 'warm light' 2700K bulb?
