RED honey oil?????? PICS

I put ground dry weed in a plastic container, put in 70% iso alcohol and shook it up for a while then filtered the alcohol out into a bowl and let that evaporate. When it went into the bowl it was a green liquid, but sometime overnight turned yellow/redish, then when all dried up left a blood red oil on the bottom. I made it with butane before and it came out normal...

Why?

And is it safe to smoke?

First off i would have not used pussy 70% ISO. You should have used 91% ISO. As for it turning a blood red thats fucking weird. Between me and my friends ive seen quite a bit of hash made and NEVER have i seen that shit. It always Goes from a green liquid to nothing but brown/amber hash cause all the alcohol is supposed to be evaporated. I would hold off on smoking it til you get a better answer from here cause im not sure if its safe.

hey, yea was in a rush and could only get my hands on 70%. I did some research and came back with 'Cherry Oil', it forms when you evaporate the alcohol in the warm sunlight and it turns the chlorophyll from green/yellow to red. I half assedly strained it as well so Im sure alot of chlorophyll got in. It gets me higher then bubblehash, but not quite as high the golden butane honey oil I made before.

My old man found a bottle of oil he made way back when. It looked the normal amber color but it was all dehydrated and stuck to the vial. He dissolved it in alcohol and evaporated it and it turned that same weird red color. We smoked it, seemed fine, and was pretty decent stuff.

i think butane taste worse than the iso method. also butane is contaminated, and if used in plastic like every one does it takes of plastic and chems of that plastic and in to the oil it goes. i like hash oil and make it with all my trimmings with 91 iso, i have used 70 and it really works just the same to me. howver i stopped making it becasue i find that a keif box is the best way to get the crystals. with out getting it wet or in butane or alcohol. and it take about 5 mins to get alot

People keep saying this, but I've yet to see anyone back it up with proof.

wich part is it u want proof of, im not tryin to argue but just stating an opinion based off of me trying most methods of making hash, hash oil, kei ect..... and overall a dry keif box produces the best tsting and smoothest hash i have ever had. it is also alot quicker

The part about butane leeching chemicals from plastic. I've never seen any evidence of this. If it was true, wouldn't Bic lighters simply dissolve after a short time?

i dont have scientific proof, but like i said try for your self (mabye u have) and make hash with a few different methods like ISO, butane, and others. now when i did this i feel like the best was the dry keif box hash. they make curtain butane fluid for the purpose of makin oil, but most use regualr butane and a pvc pipe wich is not made to have butane in it so the chemicals and shit come out. now lighters are made specificly to do what they do, they are made with a more heat resistant plastic and are like i said made to hold lighter fluid and make a small fire at the top. and when i say butane takes of the plastic and chems in the plastic, i mean theri tiny cant see them but can taste. so it would take very long to dissolve.

I'm not looking to argue the merits of the various forms of hash, I'm just looking for evidence of butane leaching chemicals out of the plastics used to extract BHO, namely PVC and ABS.

First of all I EXPLAINED how I made it in my first post, it looks exactly like normal oil just reddish, I DID smoke it and it tastes delicious with a great high.

In my first AND second post I mentioned that I have made it with butane before so don't tell me to look it up, how about you READ.

im going to go ahead and hazard a guess that you let it dry out in the open somewhere, probably exposed to sunlight. ive had this happen a couple times making big batches, almost always turns brown by the end anyhow and like you said still smokes like a champ. I will however agree with previous posters to use 91% iso, specifically one that only has "water" as an additive. typically those of a lower % can have some other bullshit added, and probably some shit you dont want to smoke on the regular. just a heads up. oh and in case someone else didnt mention it, the higher the % alc, the faster it dries. motivation enough for me.
