refining cannabis butter

I recently stumbled upon a thread that contained some good information on "refining" cannabis butter. I remember the general concept which is: 1) separate the murky water from the solid butter 2) re-melt the butter with added water 3) let the butter re-solidify 4) repeat the process until the water is mostly clear.

I can't seem to find the thread, and would really like to give this a try. I am hoping the author of the post sees this and will help me out. If not, does anyone know what I am talking about, and could possibly provide some input?

I have never heard of this but theoretically i dont see why it wouldnt work to remove the chlorophyl out. It may also remove alot of flavor but not 100% sure about that .

Just make oil first. Decarb it. Add a measured amount to butter as needed. Store oil by itself in freezer.
I have been, and all has been well :) I would really like to learn how to do the filtration that I am speaking of. I am going to give what I described a whirl tonight on some of the lower quality butter I have frozen.

Do you really have to decarb.the oil? I would think that happens when the oil is being made. (I use an oil distiller)

How.does.one.determine how much oil is.enough to add to the butter?

I used an everclear extraction for with an ounce of bud and they put the liquid into the oil distiller to reduce and then heat the remainder on a hot plate to produce the final oil/wax product.
