Reflector with the best cooling?

I'm looking to upgrade my reflector, and I'd really like to go from my 600w adjust-a-wings to an air cooled 1000watt. My issue being that my room (approx. 10x11) has no dedicated cooling. I want a reflector that has the best cooling potential. I need to be sure that I will maintain temperatures under 80. another issue is that I would prefer to keep the hood to a 6inch exhaust instead of an 8inch. Im going to cutting a hole in the wall for fresh air from an adjacent room and i'd prefer to keep the hole smaller rather than larger.

I've checked out a few hoods and a lot of them seem pretty nice. the daystar looks like it has good cooling potential, and people speak highly of the XXXL. But I wanted to know what the local RIU'ers think. Has anyone used a vertical hood instead of horizontal? Maybe it can cool better? I'm very unsure.

Also if anyone has info on exhausting without issues please chime in.

I would think a cool tube would have the best efficiency, not all that extra space to "distract" the airflow once it goes into the hood.

Raptor xxl is the way to go.... good seal on glass that doesn't leak... good square footage coverage, and they offer it in the 6in like you want... I started with day stars but when a fellow grower talked me into the raptors I never looked back....

In my opinion cool tubes seem to be a cheap fix for a large issue. I agree about the cooling part, but the light disbursement is going to be subpar. And they have a lot of hot spot issues.

I've seen this "study" and what really falls apart for me is that they are doing lumen readings. Im no scientist but what I do know is that lumens are the visible light the bulb gives off, not what goes the plant. And I will be exhausting the air. Im just having a tough time figuring out the best way to exhaust. Ideally i'd like to exhaust out the window. But its hard to think of a good setup for the window that insulates properly as to not let it get cold in the winter.

I exhaust into my attic, but first I installed 2 attic fans that are controlled by a humidistat

Here's a link to the xl hood I use which was upgraded from a cool tube. My temps stay at 75 because of the 440 cfm exhaust fan with speed controller which I also recommend. Angled reflectors disburse the light better than a cool tube and over a wider area. I run the exhaust out of the room & vent it into the basement where it's circulated with a fan after carbon filtration. Works well

Wow thats a great price. I'll keep that in mind. After doing a lot of reading on other forums I think I'm probably going to go with the XXXL magnum. People are boasting about how cool it runs even with the 6 inch.
