Reflectors and Lenses for my COBs

Hi everybody,

I have a Timber Grow Lights 400w vero 29 framework in a 3x3 tent

It came with 90 degree reflectors which I am currently using. Are they needed? is 90 better or worse than 60?

The vero 29 kits come with lenses, no lenses were provided with my framework. Are lenses needed? Whats the benefit of having them? What about lens material?

Thanks

its all personal pref and grow style.if you run high power lights and want to run them higher above the canopy i would say use reflectors to direct the light down instead of it bouncing off the walls or if no walls leaving the grow area.if running them close and lower power like 50w per cob or less i would say no lenses or reflectors.there was a test done in a sphere not long ago and i think it stated 7% losses for the cob with angelina reflectors.

thanks for the reply

It's running it at full power, which is 100w per, and currently 16" above the canopy.

I was planning on lowering it a little more.

In my case, the reflectors are not needed?

well if it was me i would take off those reflectors and either keep it where it is or even raise it to 18 to 20 inches above.thats alot of juice from a cob and with your tent walls you will get lots of light bouncing all over the place.i run my cobs at 35w mostly and keep them 12 to 16 inches up off the colas on decent size plants and do just fine.again its all personal pref and growing styles but thats what i would do with that setup.
