Regenerated Plants

So after a bag seed run we regenerated 2 of our favorite plants. When I say 'regenerated' we have harvest from a plant but left some little buds at the very bottom to throw em back in veg.

They took off and are pretty damn good plants again! Here they are at six weeks post harvest. A little spotty from some sunshine, but otherwise looking healthy.

Anyone got experience with a regenerated plant? Can it still produce well and possibly regenerate again? Do the cuttings grow funny? Seems like she's good to go really, just trying to figure out where to go from here.

The one on the right taste like blueberry muffins, and the one on the left out produced everything else. These were some short bushy outdoor plants just a couple months ago. We picked the toughest girls and even have several Blueberry muffins clones flowering now from before the flower cycle.:blsmoke: might try to regenerate them too lol

Way to go pulling seeds and then regrowing for bud. I usually go the other way. Pull bud then clone for a seed run.

You betcha! I've pulled clones from flowering plants. The buds don't really die, they just get resorbed by the plant. Your regenerated plants will flower fast. I've also cut back fully mature plants to "bonsai" mothers. They grow fine.

Yeah, they do. One lobed leaves, three lobed leaves, smooth leaf margins. All kinds of weird growth.

Ok, we haven't really taken clones from a flowering plant yet. Some in the stretch yes, but not with buds on. Will play with that soon

These are using the same root system from the old plant...should I be taking bottoms as cutting at harvest and just scrap the old root ball?
Does the plant run a risk of the roots getting sick if its running on the old root ball?

Maybe will repot with some kind of living soil. I want these things to grow into trees, re-trees..And was planning to clone before they go back outside in the spring

Ah yes, some of the original plants revegged and got all starry then didn't really produce.

These are looking not very malformed though some.of the leaves are more rounded than spiky. They smoke really good, and dont stress easy...

I get a male from this next run should I try breeding this plant with it? We had a couple out there that got pollinated I think. Have some of those seeds just popped a couple days ago, hoping for a male

Flowering clones take a while to reveg but it's cool to do just to do it. Plus, if you have a plant that's flowering especially fast or abundantly, you can cut a clone and grow it again.

Reveg the existing root ball. You can cut the rootball back by about 1/3 on the bottom and 1/3 on the sides and repot with fresh soil.

Awesome, that we can clear up some root space when we repot. I kinda want to clone one right now to see how they grow.... These plants are fully in veg mode now, they just look ordinary.

Its nice to know we don't have to clone every plant preflower to have a mother of what ends up being good. May update this as it works

Here's a pic of a plant I revegged. It was originally in a 5 gallon pot. I cut it back to just the woody branches with one green sprout on each branch. I cut the rootball back and it's now in a 3 quart pot. For the last three months it's only gotten water.

I do lots of stuff just to do it. I've heard people say, "don't disturb the rootball, you plants will die." So I took a knife to mine. Have you ever seen what Bonsai growers do to their rootballs?

Clone your plants, hack 'em, seed 'em. Don't overfeed, don't overwater and they'll be fine. Have fun.

Wow thats great that so many people are doing fun things with regenerated plants. Im excited to see how a messy little regenerate puts on buds... I have an update, I did a really not fun thing, but im about to do a really fun thing.

So when we revegged those plants from our outdoor we totally infested our indoor plants with thrips. Everything! They got onto plants that moved into a flower room and gnawed on most of the plants for the whole cycle. We just identified it too late and the buggies had taken hold. Needless to say our ladies under produced. A seedling tray and some mothers kinda shrugged it off cuz we just blasted em with neem oil. We're learning some hard lessons, but damnit somebody's gotta learn em!

Now we have everything scrubbed up and the bugs seem whooped for now. The original reveg plants just went into a flower tent with some starts we're sexing from some other stuff that got pollinated outdoor for some reason. They both look great, and honestly so do the new starts. We have several clones of both getting ready for when these are done!

I turned the thrips bitten blueberry tasting buds from this round into bubble hash and its flavorful with an uppy profile. We think that its some kinda Gelato or sumthin from the taste and how it looks. We've harvested this strain thrice now and it hasn't been really impressive except the outdoor had chunky colas. Hoping that we get our tent game working strong this round.

We only got 3 ounces off of 4 thrips bitten plants that were really looking great in week 4 but the bugs just zapped em. We also had a 2000 watt light in a 2x2 tent which may be too much light. Im surprised they didn't herm, we even had a crazy ice storm where the lights got all fucked up! Im ready for this round to be uneventful with the pitfalls!

Picture one is the blueberry stuff
Picture two were just calling the Indica. Omg I wish I had 8 of these to throw a screen over right now! Might bamboo a screen on just this pot but I like how it's growing out of that corner for now. Still alot of bug damage, needs a haircut
