Reintroducing Nitrogen in Late Bloom?

Wanted to see if any of you had ever had to reintroduce N in late bloom (weeks 6-7) and if it had any negative consequences. I believe I screwed up by testing shutting down N early in flower. Clearly my current strain needs N at least for the first 4 weeks of bloom (I know this now). Most of my fan leaves either turned brown and died off or were totally yellow by end of week 4. I think there was a deficiency of the micro nutrients and N so I wanna try adding some N back in there for a couple of feedings to help with nutrient uptake. My PK boosters just aren't adding to the bulk of the colas as the normally would.

Any reason I shouldn't do this? Thanks in advance RIU :)

Bonus question: I read that using Recharge (bennies) this late might royally fuck the harvest (it did to some dude's grow). Anyone else have any such experience or was that just an isolated incident and I'm OK to add it right now?

I wouldnt add more nitrogen. feeding a plant more doesnt make the buds bigger. A well executed grow makes the buds big. The plant needs what it should be eating and not a corrective attempt at a quick fix. Id just run a balanced feed for the rest of her life and hope for the best. I usually cut out calcium and just run mag instead of a calmag suppliment. And some sulfer. Humbolt makes Magnum and it has both.

And dont worry about adding bennies. Just dont go overboard. A little sugar and microbes at the end is never a bad idea.

I would never cut out micro or a nitrogen part of your nute program in flower. Nitrogen is the number one nutrient used by plants to grow. Plus they usually include a bunch of other micro nutrients as well as calcium and magnesium. Just add it back into your feed schedule asap and hopefully they will get back on track as much as they can. Wouldn't bother with bennies at this point. Best of luck!

Why did you stop is the real question!

The plant is always using N.... N use slows, but doesn't go away or stop ........I run a bump up at the flip - all macro's....maybe as much as a whole point. I never reduce it from there either. I do increase the P at the 3rd week of bloom and then late bloom drop it back to flip levels and hit it with high K.....K is the bulker - not P so much! P builds the buds in mid bloom. You might try a boost at like the 0-9-19 level at weeks 6-7-8 or 7-8-9 and run 9-10 weeks......

P is so over used in MM cultivation! Early and late jumps in P application hurt more then help in many cases......I run a higher K level all grow long!

I experimented with using an AACT (active bennies) all through some synthetic runs......I had to reduce my nutrients by 50% just to start! So over use of active myco's can cause burning by high nutrient up-take. I went back to organic home made soils.....far cheaper and far less problems, at least for me!

What's a good K supplement you would recommend?

This is one of those debates that doesn't seem to have a clear winner on the forums - P vs K and which to apply when in bigger doses. Some people swear by P late, others swear by K late. I really need to test this out for myself lol

Organic
Potassium sulfate
Wood ash
Kelp meal - mixed in soil at the build
Kelp extract
Greensand - this is a long term, long release item. Mixed in soil at the build.

Synthetic
I always liked Atami's Bloosum Builder 0-9-19, for late bulking.
Si used all grow for across the board K delivery
There are a gang of high K supplements from various makers. Remember I suggest a 1:2 P to K ratio (or less P)
Resinator is high K - Look at the "Do it yourself" section and I posted a "How to make your own Resinator/Terpinator" formula. That works good.
RAW packages single stand alone nutrients. Nice for those who like there own manipulation of NPK ratio's.

That's off the top of my head. Poke around in a nice grow shop and read the labels....
