Removing heat from CO2 generation/ cobbling my CO2 burner.

I have a Green Air CD-36 that does a great job of producing CO2 but puts out 26k BTU when it's on. I was thinking of drilling a 6" hole in the side and putting a length of solid furnace ducting through it and connecting it to my hood ventilation. The only problem I can think of is that the pipe will be close to the flame and I don't know how much heat it can take.

I went ahead and did it. It stunk a bit at first when the paint was burning off the pipe but that stopped and it seems to be drawing off quite a bit of heat much cheaper than I can cool it with the A/C.
