Renting + Growing, worry about the landlord?

Hi, I've done one grow before in an apartment with roomates, but it was just a closet. The landlord never came into our apartment at any point in the 4 months I was there. However me and some friends are moving into a house in BC this summer, where we plan on a *little* more than a closet grow. What we are worried about is the landlord coming over though, we know that they cannot come in since it is our private home as long as we are renting, but I have read that if repairs are needed or things of that nature, they have the right to come in with a repairman or something like that. So what should I be careful about while renting this house and growing? Smell, sound, and light are all taken care of, but if someone is coming to check plumbing/electricity in the basement... that could be an issue.

Rented all the years I grew, and only had issues with one landlord when she was trying to sell the house and tried to show it! Luckily, I wasn't a dumbass, and made sure to install a solid door with two heavy duty locks and reinforcements on it. Since we spun music, we just said that our stuff was in there, and weren't getting it ripped off again by supposed "friends". It worked, but was still really sketchy.

Personally, I think the safest way to grow IS to rent. From what I understand, in some cases, people have been known to have to forfeit their homes to the Feds.

uncertaintly over your security aint gonna be a nice feeling.. dunno how this stuff works where you are.. but could you check if safety certificates/annual check-ups or w/e is needed is all taken care of before you set up??? this my give you the breathing space you need for a grow or 3... good luck

Better to rent from a private home owner than a property agency. I dont know how it works up there in Canada, but down here the landlord has to give 24 hours notice before showing up, which will give you some time to hide things/clean up, depending on how big of a project you have going... All in all, just make sure to pay your rent, keep the yard looking nice, and never, EVER, complain about anything. As long as the check comes every month and the house looks fine from the outside when they drive by to look at it, then you should be home free...
