Hey all hows it going? I have plant thats been in flower for 5 days now an i need to control the height of one of my plants that is now two feet tall. I vegged her for 26 days and shes about 37 days old. Soil is happy frog and nutes are fox farm.

I've read alot on supercropping but i just dont exactly grasp it. Now am i supposed to pinch just abve the noe im trying to get light to right? Now when i pinch how hard should i be doing this and will the crack be loud enough for me to distinguish? then i just bend down at a 90 degree angle and pinch again?

Please lemme know if this is correct. Ne pics of your supercropping or a link to some will be appreciated. + REP FOR ALL REPLIES.

Heres some pictures of the plant i want to super crop from today. 5 days flowering.

just grab the branch in your forefingers sqeeze until it givesthen gently lay it down on side its not hard and its hard to mess supercropping up, u could smash it tataly and it would still probly grow shouldnt supercropp in flower thought cuz the stem gets harder only in veg

I think the trick to super cropping is not to just BREAK the branch. You want to squeeze, rub, and twist to soften the inner tissue of the branch. Every part of the plant has a trigger system as I call it. If you have ever cut off a branch and looked at it upside down you can see that the center is hollow. This is where the nutrients and water travel through the plant. The object is to break the branch without doing major damage to that inner core. So work the branch and soften the tissue before you break it. Dont just snap it. It can take 5 minutes to break one branch if you do it proper. This is how Ive always been taught. Im not saying its the perfect way but it MAKES SENSE.

Hi NormaJean,

Supercropping is something that you do during veg, not after you've started flowering. Superdave was mentioning one specific technique to safely bend your branches.

The concept is basically to bend the branches so that side branches that would've otherwise grown horizontally, grow vertically, the end result is a higher yield, with more sun-struck buds throughout. It's basically the bonsai'ing of cannabis.

One additionally thing you'll need to be mindful of, is that it takes a considerably longer veg time, because you're growing branches out, then trimming them back, and regrowing again, so it really is the art of bonsai, imho.

They look a little big to begin the process, you can trim up to 50% without shocking it. You want to end up with several really thick branches, to deliver a high quantity of nutes and h2o to support a high amount of foilage.
