Hey guys! First off, I just want to say WOW! I never knew the amount of information out there about growing. I have done a lot of research and have learned so much along the way. It all seems like a never-ending rabbit hole that I have gotten myself into. I have looked through many of the other related websites, 420magizine, thcfarmer etc. etc. but I have definitely found the most informative site right here. I build furniture and do some carpenter work as well. Building the grow space will not be a problem for me. I am a bit of a perfectionist about things as you may see in some of my drawings. I am just looking to grow for personal use, so I have decided on a 2'x2'x6' space. I want to max the space out though. I have decided to go with a one plant scrog style grow. I'm not sure of the strain yet but will ultimately decide on a balance of ease of growth, yield and potency. I'm putting up these drawings for critique. I will veg and flower in the same space. I want to know where I could improve, where I am trying to get too technical or any other constructive criticism that you all have to offer. Please ask me questions as I have alot of this in my head and am somewhat slow at typing! Here are some specifics:
Grow area is a 2' x 2' x 6'
(4) CXB3590 3500K CD bin
(2) Heatsink USA 5.886" x 20" for passive cooling
(1) Meanwell HLG-185H-C1400 (not sure if "a" or "b" model yet)
Total lighting watts running the 4 cobs at 1400ma would be 195.4w
Efficiency of 56.34%
Making 110 PARw (27.5 PARw/sq. ft.)
Total lumens 35,665 (8916.25 lm/sq. ft.)
Passive intake
4" externally mounted inline exhaust
Phresh 4" x 12" carbon filter
My main concern right now I would say is my lighting. Will I be ok with it at 18" above the canopy? How does my light spread look? The drawing is based on using 90* lenses. I would like to use a "b" version for the dimmer. Another option would be to get a 700ma driver. The reason being, I will eventually be doing separate veg and flower spaces. For this first grow, if I were to have to two drivers, I could just do a dc barrel plug on the leads and use the 700ma driver for the veg and then just unplug and plug into the 1400ma for flower. Then for the next, I could just build another light for the veg room and already have a driver for it. I don't know. Any and all input is greatly appreciated. If you see holes in my plan please mention. I am sure I have thought about it but just didn't get it down in this post. Thank you guys for your time. Like I said, I have learned alot but I know I am just at the tip of the iceberg.
