Did some searching, while there were quite a few results, they didn't really apply to my question.
I've got two plants culled today, both in one gallon pots. One did not take well being transplanted from the solo cup. The other did well with the transplant but am just not happy with the way it's growing. Doing Bonsai moms and just didn't get this one under control in time to shape it right. Took some clones from the established plant to see if they can do differently. No issues with either plant other than the one not doing well from transplanting. Not very old plants, about three months old from seed. Using Nectar of the Gods #4 soil and organic nutrients. I've got three other plants of the same strain that were cracked at the same time, they are thriving.
With all that out of the way... can I reuse the soil from these two pots even if there were quite a bit of roots left in from the established plant ? It's organic matter that will break down over time and I don't plan on using it very soon anyway. Just hate to throw it out since it's expensive and seems like a waste.
