Hey RIP community, I had a quick question for your wisdom. Alright so here's the story, I had a clone growing indoors for about 4 weeks. They were at least 7 inches tall when I was forced to move them outdoors. Anyways they have been out since around nov 1st so they began to flower immediately. They are almost a foot tall now and covered with white pistils. Unfortunately, winter solstice is December 21st and that's when the days start getting longer. Are my plants going to revert to veg immediately? Because they have been flowering for a good 4 weeks and another 3 till solatice but that's only 7 weeks flowering, how much longer will they flower after the solstice if on that day we get 10 hours of sunlight? I do t get 12 hours till march so will I be safe? Thank you. Plus rep to any helpers

I don't see why they would revert on 10 hours. It might stress them out a lot but I don't think it would kick them back into veg. I'm no expert grower but in my opinion the biggest problem you might face would be hermies from the stress.

Oh thanks man for the input, that's a really good thought about it hermiing. I hadnt even thought of that before now. Damn that would suck haha. When would you say that they would revert back to veg?

Basically this. The days wont be long enough to deplete the flowering hormones until days break 12 hours of light. Depending on how long they are going to be flowering you might end up with a few male flowers but I don't think it would be significant enough to do anything serious. My advice : chill :) After the 8 week mark just give em a good going over every couple days and just pluck any male flowers you find. ;)

I know from a past grow where my timer took a shit it was a few days of 24/0 and they hermied. I'm not sure on such a gradual change as you would find in nature. Like was stated before make sure to check for Bermuda and get those basterds out of there at this stage you might still be able to make hash out of them.

Thanks everybody who has helped. So I won't be in any way in danger or reverting, just hermis and cold temps, thanks a bunch guys. Not to worried with cold temps, I live in San Diego. I don't think it's gotten below 40F once so I should be good. It will give my plants a nice purple at least.

Puff, don't worry about them reverting to veg. The days only very gradually get longer. And they won't reach 12/12 until about March 22nd. Plenty of time. Your plants be fine. Must be nice being able to grow year round outside.

Hey Puff :-)

I believe you will be all set since the days only get longer/shorter in a gradual time setting (Not like us indoor growers where the flick of the switch is on/off. I would stay a little cautious about them turning hermie, but that is a chance that we all take when we shock our girls. ( I use Advanced Nutrients product called "No Shock" when I either transplant, or even if the indoor light does not work at a certain designated time). I have had some good luck with this product, and it is fairly inexpensive.

Good Luck with your girls and keep us posted :-)

Thanks everybody but it's all fucked. God damn bugs bunny decided to take a late night stroll and guess what he found? Two nice young juicy marijuana strains. The little bitch not only ate my plants but he also left me a few steamy round shits on the way out. No joke, as I walk up to my growsite I see 3 rabbits running off and I look down tosee like 15 wet from the butthole turds. Fuck rabbits. They ruined my grow In Alaska and San Diego. I would t be bothered if the wheel rabbit species went extinct...,
