Rheumatoid Arthritis - Need high cbd content strain info

Hello,

I am asking on behalf of a loved one. My wife was diagnosed with severe Rheumatoid Arthritis last year and the medicines that she has been taking are ineffective. She is taking the maximum dosages already...and the problems are worse. Not only that, but the medicines are knocking her out for a day at a time. What information (links or other) can you share with me about RA and marijuana? Please note that my wife is not a smoker...not even casually. I don't ask for selfish reasons...she has never given me even a little "issue" about my enjoyment of marijuana recreationally.

Any information is welcome even something as simple as the most effective strain that I could grow for her. I have read that high cbd content is very beneficial not only for pain relief but also in anti-inflamatory. So far the strongest posted cbd content I have found is Greehouse's Great White Shark at 1.7% Do you know of anything even stronger? She of course is not looking for one hitter quitter thc content. CBD are the magical letters in this search.

i did see another post on another grow site
talked about some new strains bred for higher cbd, lower thc
cbd/thc ratios were pretty close, around 5-6% each
one was called incredible romulan, the other was a true blueberry x og kush cross
i don't think these are available by seed, just at a few dispensaries in Cali
but higher cbd strains do seem to be slowly appearing

EDIT:

went back to check the details on these 2 strains
i was a little low on the cbd measures, actual numbers were around 5% thc, 10% cbd
pretty amazing if true
the OP of this info was trying them for anxiety issues, which is what i'm looking for
described them as not really stoney at all, more sedating
might be a better match for a person that has no interest in recreational MJ

White Rhino’s CBD is rated 1.6% That is a popular medical strain for various conditions that require higher levels of CBD. It is worth researching.

If you would by chance pick it be sure to purchase the original White Rhino that is found from Mr. Nice Seeds now under the name of Medicine Man. Any accurate information you would find for the original White Rhino would also be about Medicine Man, since they are one in the same, but if you pick a knockoff by the same name but with different genetics all you will get is the same name and the accurate information you might have found would not really apply since it would be about different genetics and not just a shared name.

If at all possible, whenever possible, if there are genetics that are wanted or needed, purchase the real true original genetics and not some other breeders version of the strain and then names it the same thing. Especially in the case of actual medication and not just something for recreation. What good is it to research and then pick certain specific genetics and then purchase a genetically different knockoff just because it is legal for a breeder to give their knockoff the same name as the original?

You cannot trust breeder information when it comes to knockoffs of famous strains. Many or most, if not all, use basically the same information for all and that information is not based on their genetics but instead on the original strain. They use advertising speak some of the time. Things like ‘when tested strain ‘XYZ’ tested at 99% in THC!!!! Well ok, maybe strain ‘XYZ’ did but they did not word it ‘our strain of ‘XYZ.’ They use the original ‘factory spec’s and infer that theirs is the same. Often the same advertising copy is used for different breeder’s knockoff strains that share the same name as famous ones as is used for the famous ones further inferring that they are the same, when they are not.

It really is false misleading advertising.

A fair number of growers know quality will vary from breeder-strain to breeder-strain of the same name, but some do not, they see the same name and assume it is the same, and some of those that know there is a difference tend underestimate what the difference can be.

That is the only reason I mentioned what some will see as being the bloody obvious, because there is always someone who either just never learned or is new and they just don’t know and now and then it is not a bad idea to point out how the knockoff market works and the differences that goes with them and that you cannot expect the same thing(s) from them as the originals.

Great points. Thanks. Yes this would be actual medicine...so absolutely I have no problem paying more to be certain of the true readings. Thanks again.

where did you get the cbd rating? I just looked up the strain on attitude and it doesn't say the cbd rating. (which if true would be many times higher than any strain out there in existance)

thanks...i rep'd you...odd though on Attitude they have the THC of that strain at 20+% and on that study it's around 6% thc. Those are pretty wildly different numbers. The cbd % is MASSIVE as well. Don't get me wrong...if the numbers were accurate it'd be perfect for medicine...but maybe not so much for recreational use...at all.

How can any plant have a CBD rating when the CBDs are the 'amber part' of the tryches and thus dependent on when one harvests. Or am I misinformed on this?

To the thread originator... I am a medical patient and suffer from RA... my best to your missus... this disease sucks large... but then again most do... but I digress.... I get some serious symptomatic relief from White Russian... it really allows me to move when to do so otherwise is unbeleivably painful... I have found that Chronic and Northern Lights could not hold a candle to The Russian.... and I will be growing out Cannatonic in the grow after next...

just wanted to say, i know a couple of older folks with RA and they say cookies help decrease the swelling and pain, and help em sleep. might be better to bake or make oil.

Very Misinformed...CBD's Are not the AMBER PART!!! CBD's Are presant in Veg Stage...do some research!!

Well, it´s been said by others, but a (late harvested) white rhino/medicine man, or cannatonic may be effective. I smoked cannatonic once, and I was impressed by the quality, but I only had it once, and that was a while ago...
