So, last month, I went to Borders and bought a stack of the monthly pot rags. Probably the last time I do this because I am thoroughly pissed at the direction certain magazines seem to be taking the 'legalization argument'. The best one episode of this hypocrisy I found was the editor of one magazine (I won't point any fingers, but, it was Marco Renda of Treating Yourself) decry the absolute horror of people 'making money off of patients that need their meds', and 'charging way more than what is spent on nutrients and [crap like that](<- my words in brackets).
So then I see this asshole in another Mag (again, not pointing any fingers, but it was Weed World. interesting since Mr. Renda is from Canada, and weed world is in the UK. Maybe he thought no one over here would see it. I mean, the guy is a fucking retard) writing a big article that shows his smug ass standing in his 'gov't approved medical grow in Canada'. I mean, the guy is in a pretty big room with A LOT of plants. More than one person would need for a year. I wonder what he plans to do with all the extra doobage this asshole will get.
Anyway, the guy even has the balls to complain that he had trouble getting registered because the FREE GROW SCHWAG( of which the reviews are nothing more than paid ads by advertisers. This is further reinforced by the fact he's got a picture of his ugly smug face standing next to a fucking trimpro xl he admits he got for free) he had accumulated from running his shitty magazine wasn't up to code cause it was American and not coded for use in Canada. Yeah, you fucking asshole, they gave you trouble because its AGAINST THE LAW TO USE UNCERTIFIED EQUIPMENT. Especially one from another country cause of voltages differences or whatever. Now, Ive never been to canada, so, i dont know if they use the same plugs that we do in the states, probably the do, but still. The sense of entitlement this guy has is fucking amazing. Responsible pot growers know the key to remaining on the positive side of this fight not doing stupid shit like using hazardous equipment, stealing electricity, or growing with hazardous pesticides (among other things of course, Im just trying to prove a point, you know?).
Anyway, I didn't want this to turn into the fucking rant it did, but now I am so disillusioned. I am now wondering if Rick Simpson's story is true... If it wasn't that would be a tremendous blow to the movement, I bet it would be as drastic as the positive effect his story has had so far. I recently remember all the mags doing stories on him one month not too long ago, as if they had just realized this was important info and had gotten together to help spread the word. A noble act of course, but, god, if it were all bullshit, I would be crushed...
Also, I am all for cheap medicine, but, the people that do provide good medicine, at least the people that I have met in my state of California do so at great risk of not only the cops raiding them for something that is LEGAL in the state, to having a home invasion. Seriously, I dont know which would be worse. Beyond that, there aer only so many people that can really do this well. I mean, everyone can grow, but not everyone can grow good medicine, which is a certain kind of high grade, quality, lovingly grown herb, that is most of the times a product of YEARS of practice and study. This is something that SHOULD be rewarded. If pot becomes more plentiful the prices go down, simple as that. The more there is, the less you have to pay for it, so, making it more legal and accessible would be the OBVIOUS way to bring the cost down. Something not mentioned once in ANY of these damn mags that bitch about how expensive weed is...
