Hey guys, this is my first complete indoor grow and its going very well so far. To start ill catch you up on the details. I'm growing in a 2x4x8 space and am currently vegging with an 8 bulb 2 foot t5 192w light. I just ordered an apollo 600w my light with cool tube and it should be here shortly for flower. Rift valley is Durban poison and S.A.G.E. mixed, and I currently have 2 of them on the 7th week of veg. I have been lst and fimming them, and they are in 3 gallon pots.20160915_072944_HDR.jpg 20160915_073031_HDR.jpg

Feel free to comment or suggest things if you want! Always looking for good knowledge!! I am using botanicare cal mag plus and silica blast along with the fox farm solubles: open sesame, beastie bloomz, and cha ching.

I got everything mounted with the exception of the flex piping. I have to go to the store tomorrow and pick some of that up along with clamps. I have the light set at 36 inches above the canopy just to get then used to the stronger light for a few days. I've got the light on and fan off with the door open to see if they will be alright under the hps tonight in the room or if they will sit under the t5 in the corner until tomorrow.20160924_003307_HDR.jpg 20160924_003346_HDR.jpg 20160924_003314.jpg 20160924_004303.jpg

Had the hps at 24 inches and it was too much for the plants. The tops yellowed out so i raised it up to about 30 inches. Will update with some measurement pics in a bit. Here is the almost finished grow spot.20160930_152958_HDR.jpg 20160930_153009.jpg 20160930_153018.jpg 20160930_153021.jpg 20160930_153033.jpg 20160930_153114.jpg 20160930_153123.jpg 20160930_153221.jpg

Got some measurement pics. Picked up 3 inches in 12 days. I don't think that's bad for having 25+ tops. 20161002_185051.jpg 20161002_185128.jpg 20161002_185245.jpg 20161002_185302.jpg 20161002_185105.jpg 20161002_185133.jpg

Well I made a newb mistake with my nutrients. When testing my runoff, I was just glancing at my room meter because its kind of hard to see since its not backlit like my ph meter. It was always reading in the 1xx range so I thought my plants where using nearly all the nutes I was feeding them. I didn't notice the tiny 10x right next to the readout. It was 1580ppm!!!! I thought it was 158ppm! Needless to say I flushed my girls until I got it down to the 300 range (where my filtered tap water sits) and gave them a dose of botanicare cal mag plus. Hopefully they will jump out of this pretty quickly. The onset coincided with me switching to my 600 watt HPS light and I thought the yellowing of the plants with light burn from the more intense hid. Wants to leave started showing spots I knew something was wrong and that's when I found out my issue with them. Hopefully they will be perked up and greening by the time i get home to check on them. Well the girls are turning around. All the new growth is nice and green. Canopy is still looking nice and even. I'm gonna switch then to 12/12 within the next few days. Just waiting on them to recover just a bit more first. As you can see one of the phenotypes is definitely better than the other. Both plants have similar structure and foliage but the one just doesn't seem to grow quite as fast. Here are a couple fast pics. 20161012_063341.jpg 20161012_063330.jpg 20161012_063422.jpg 20161012_063359.jpg 20161012_063350.jpg

Just a couple quick snaps while I watered. Phed to 6.4 with a 500ppm mix of cal mag plus and silica blast. Runoff tested at 1000 ppm so ocean forest must be a pretty hot mix. Since they were both flushed with 6 gallons last week until runoff was 300. Really wanted to flower a while ago but I'm not flipping unless they are healthy. These babes are gonna be huge!!20161016_023852_Film3.jpg 20161016_023910_Film3.jpg 20161016_023838_Film3.jpg 20161016_023843_Film3.jpg

Still waiting to flip the girls into flower. There have been too many yellow and dying leaves for me to want to flip. I'm showing a huge mag defiency and looks like it may be calcium also. I'm going to wait a little more before I up the amount of cal mag I use. I don't want them to be locked out and try to overcorrect. If I need to am I able to foliar spray Epsom salts on them for the mag deficiency? I ended up lollipopping the tall one and defoliating most of the bad leaves off of both. Hopefully they show improvement soon so I can flip to flower.20161024_072232.jpg 20161024_072427.jpg 20161024_072442.jpg 20161024_072458.jpg 20161024_073752.jpg 20161024_075732.jpg 20161024_075929.jpg 20161024_080022.jpg

Went ahead and did a foliar feed on the girls with my cal mag plus. Hopefully they will green up within the next day or two. Really wanting to flip these babes into flower. You can clearly see the different phenotypes one is almost 10 inches taller than the other!20161027_084830.jpg 20161027_084840.jpg 20161027_084848.jpg 20161027_084907.jpg 20161027_084915.jpg

Put the girls into flower 3 days ago now. I have been feeding just a light dose of only 1.75ml/gal of cal mag plus in with my water. I have given them 2 foliar feeding with the same strength cal mag plus and they seem to like it. But I'm going to wait a few days before giving it another go. I want to wait to see if they will continue to green or if they are going to need a constant dose of the mix. Cool tube is about 15 inches from the canopy. And temps are maxing out right at 80 degrees. I need to remount my filter so I can get it just as low as the light to suck any hot air out. I have also been thinking about making an adjustable ceiling inside the grow room so I can block off the unused 4 feet of vertical space I have right now. I figure it's wasted ambient air getting sucked through my filter when it doesn't need to be. 20161102_010836.jpg 20161102_010829.jpg 20161102_010824_HDR.jpg

Gave the girls another cal mag foliar feeding tonight. They are gonna need watered tomorrow and its been awhile since they have gotten anything except for the cal mag. I don't know if I'm going to feed them a very diluted feeding of the open sesame or if I'm going to just top dress with new soil and water through. 20161105_012651.jpg 20161105_012655.jpg 20161105_012707_HDR.jpg 20161105_012754.jpg

Girls are showing their goods! Fed them last night with a really weak mix of the open sesame. I'm still showing signs of mag deficiency. And now some spotting on the leaves that looks like calcium deficiency. I guess I'm gonna give them a dose of 5ml per gallon on next watering and continue the foliar sprays with cal mag. Girls haven't really grown much but they haven't really had any food at all since the flush. Hopefully the feeding will green them up a bit. I'm definitely gonna add some soil to the top on next watering to see if I can get the plants some food without over nuting them. 20161108_010250.jpg 20161108_010302.jpg 20161108_010319.jpg 20161108_010346.jpg

I added my 8 tube 2 foot t5 fixture to the door of my room for supplemental and mixed spectrum lighting. Also snapped a few shitty pics of some bud progression. 20161116_235558_HDR.jpg 20161116_235602.jpg 20161116_235607.jpg

Went ahead and pulled them out for a few pics. I'm going out of town next week for 4 days and its worrying me a bit. I hope I'm not pushing them too far between waterings. They SHOULD be fine but last time i left town, my girl turned the air in the house off and it almost killed the girls early on. Im just praying for no mishaps when I'm out of town. Today is 21 days in flower20161118_005221.jpg 20161118_005307.jpg 20161118_005529.jpg 20161118_010341.jpg 20161118_010414.jpg 20161118_010433.jpg 20161118_010605.jpg 20161118_010634.jpg 20161118_010751.jpg 20161118_011150.jpg
