Rockwool issues

got some AK-48 seeds to germ perfectly and just got a new hydro drip setup i wanted to try. what is the trick with this rockwool stuff. how do you keep it wet? put my 3 sprouts about 12 inches from a cfl and by morning the rockwool was dry as a bone and the sprouts shriveled and dead. temp is 78. everything is inside a grow cab i put together for my first few grows. they went very well but were done in soil. anyone else have issues with this?

the trick is to keep it moist but not too wet
u have to keep an eye on it in the beginning to set ur water schedule
