Rockwool Problem

So i got these rockwool cubes and ive read that too much water in them can slow the growth rate of the seed. Is this true? It would seem so almost because ive had the same seed in there since the 2nd and its still hardly coming out! i planted 1 in soil same day and its just now curling out of its ball and spreading out. its SLH, but did i just get it too wet?

possibly..... from what you are saying you started the seed in the rock cube. First off put seeds in a moist paper towel then fold up. then throw moist paper towel and seed in ziploc plastic sandwich bag. A couple of days and they will pop. Once in cube then add some nutes to that seedling and you are off to the races....lol

you should not use any nutes to germinate seeds. a seed is self contained and holds all the nutes it needs until it has a couple of true sets of leaves.

fuck rockwell i hate that shit. drowns the plants and just keeps the ph fucked up.
I went to perlite coco and hydron clay pellets. Plants love it.

I've given up and rockwool and gone to Rapid Rooters by General Hydroponics. They contain a nutrient compound for seedlings, they are cheap and they don't have the problems of rockwool. They recommend not top feeding them.
