I have some head lettuce started, but lettuce growing is a new thing for me. SlikWill does too, in the slik and friends veggie journal, he may have grown lettuce before.

Gypsy had some lettuce going on. I myself don't have any experience in growing lettuce but I'm sure if you asked him he would know some stuff. Good luck, it's always nice to see people growing plants other than the ganja haha

thanks i will check out those journals see what kind of information i can find ........love the ganja but i need to eat to haha so yea i will be trying lettuce first then others .... last year i had a huge tomato but all my tomato's were eaten by dam squirrels grrr so were going indoors this year......keep up the growing

i just planted some along with some basil, oregano, tomatoes and a poppy or 2 and outa all the seeds planted the lettuce and the poppy were the only ones to germ in this cold night weather so far.
lettuce ftw it seems as an easy grower. i read the same on line.

You have to be careful with head lettuce, if it gets to hot it will bolt (send up a flower stalk).
I'm in zone 5 and head lettuce is best grown in the spring and fall here.

Hey man.. thanks for stopping by the Depot...i was wondering if any one has grown Lettuce before.....i remeber seeing it in somones grow room in another post but for got to right it down ..... so i was seeing if any one in here can help me .....
If you have any questions, I will try my best to help, but I am not that knowledgeable, I am just winging it...
I started my lettuce in Rapid Rooter Plugs... which I have grown to dislike... and put the sprouts on pots with hydroton in my ebb/flow...
At first, for some odd reason, I had them in the flower room, which means 12/12, low humidity, bloom nutes.... etc...
But then I put them in the Veg room, 24/0, average humidity, grow nutes... and they just took off... as you can see....
These pictures are about 50 days from seed...

I'm starting some lettuce tonight so can I join the lettuce club ? I picked up some Iceberg lettuce seeds. I was at the dollar store today and got 10 packs of various seeds for 1 dollar, it was a deal I couldn't refuse lol. Once I get some sprouts going on I will update with pics

lmao hell yea salad eaters unit hahaha gotta love it .....thanks for the info gypsybush ........ i am going to go down to armstrong or homedepot and get some seeds hahaha i cant wait ..... trying to talk my grandad to get a greenhouse hehehe just for vegs that would be sweet .... i will let every one know when i have my seeds going ........keep up the good work farmers
