Root Hormone Solution.

Good rooting hormone comes in gel form so it adheres to the stem. but, often this still washes away; especially in a cloning machine.

So, I'm wondering if there is any reason not to dissolve the hormone into the cloning solution. I wouldn't use expensive gel but maybe some inexpensive powder. Can anybody think of any reason not to do this?

Also, does anyone know the difference between a chromosome and a hormone?

Answer: You can't make a chromosome.

Dont use a cloning machine. Rooting powder is about 1% hormone and 99% inert filler, usually talk, which is not water soluble. It will make a paste, like flour and water.

I use rooting powder in wet wet soil with a plastic baggie over it. I leave that alone for about a week and i have roots. I also prepare the crap out of the clone. I scrape the sides of the stem and split the bottom as well as trim the tips of the remaining leaves before dipping in the powder and into the wet wet soil.

I also wet the soil with water that has a few drops of hydrogen peroxide in it. The extra oxygen helps roots form.

With this batch I dumped the leftover Colex gell into the clone solution. Beats putting it down the drain and I don't see how this can hurt.
